The Effect of Tubal Injection of Methotrexate(MTX) to Fertility in the rabbit

Abstract
|
|
|
The effect of tubal injection of methotrexate(MTX) on fertility was investigated in rabbits 10. Rabbits were injection with MTX(0.7mg/kg) in right tube and isotonic lactated Ringer's solution(0.7%) in left tube for control. Remain9ng 10 of
rabbits
were
performed salpingotomy in right tube and salpingostomy in left tube. After 4 weeks later, 3 rabbits died and 17 female rabbits were left with 2 male rabbits, then they were killed 2 weeks later postoperatively.
In these rabbits, the nidation index for the tube injected with MTX was 38 of 92(0.413)and the control tude injected with Ringer's solution was 32 of 102(0.314). Also the nidation index in group with performed salpingotomy and salpingostomy was

68(0.295) and 22 of 68(0.324), respectively. The difference was not statistically significant and the tubal injection of MTX has no adverse effect on fertility of rabbits. It seems ethical to investigate tubal injection of MTX using p4elviscopy
as
an
alternative to surgical management of unruptured ectopic in the human.
